How does Market Scope Work? -- Front
Page --
The primary objective of Market Scope Update is to prepare
you ahead of time when probabilities favor a significant leg, either
up or down, in favor of the overall trend. These tend to occur
following the end of bull or bear markets or completed corrections. To
participate in the most profitable moves while minimizing risk, one
must trade in favor of the trend.
Accordingly, each edition of Market Scope Update begins with
a "Priority Markets Summary" that instantly informs you exactly where
all of the most critical markets stand in relation to their respective
cycles. One column indicates the precise status of a particular
commodity, index or financial instrument. The term "Urgent" denotes
a market in which a critical turning point can unfold at any time,
if it hasn't already. "Alert" means that the situation
can turn "Urgent" any day. The next column tells you the
expected direction of the trend, whether up or down; the one after
that informs you what type of turning point appears imminent. A
Historic Buying Low (HBL) – the condition in which a strong
uptrend can begin after a final bear market low is in place – or
a Swing Low (SL), the bottom of a correction, are points at
which profitable long positions can be initiated. On the flip
side, when you see HSH (Historic Selling High) or IH (Intermediate
High) during a downtrend, you know the market is posturing itself for
a potential major selling opportunity.
Continuing further to the right, columns E and F project the
climactic price levels and time frames likely to lead to important
turns in each market. These crucial areas are typically expressed
as ranges, rather than singular numbers or dates. Once we enter
the date range for a forecast turning point, the probability of
a reversal increases with each passing day. This is because
the move becomes increasingly mature (overbought or oversold). Fewer
days remain within which a turning point can occur. The same
is true for a price turning point as the market moves through the
projected range. We then assign a specific probability, in
percentage terms, to the chance that the turn will materialize
as predicted. Finally, the last 3 columns of the Priority
Markets Summary focus on the next prospective leg, anticipating its
magnitude and duration and again allotting a certain percentage to
such an event's likelihood, based on application of our entire spectrum
of analytic tools. You can multiply the specific probabilities
by the size of the projected moves they're associated with to derive
average expected values for each, which should help you give preference
to the most rewarding trades. Market Scope Update is
a forward-looking service. We pride ourselves on identifying
future big moves, often before others even recognize the last
change in trend. -- View

How does Market Scope Work? -- Supporting
Research Pages --
After the front-page summary, we move on to explore our covered
markets in depth. We assess their current and pending moves
from the following variety of perspectives. For each parameter
used, we provide a Summary, Observations & Interpretations, and
its presumed Indication (bullish or bearish).
- What "Market Section" are we in? A bull or bear market
only has a finite number of distinct legs up or down. Does
this market still have legs, or is it running out of legs to stand
on?
- Closest Historic Precedents: Does our market display striking
similarities to a particular predecessor in terms of time periods,
percentage price moves, percentage retracements, master time factor
cycles, seasonal tendencies and a host of other indicators? When
we know our market is a "sister market" to another in history, we
can trade with much greater confidence.
- Master Time Factor: What do the most relevant decennial-year
and other cycles say about the current market? Do they all
contain similar patterns or point in the same direction?
- Price & Time Analysis (time periods, price, velocity):
How does this move rank relative to historical norms? Does
it likely have further to go or has it already reached an extreme
overbought or oversold condition? What does this portend for
the upcoming move?
- Price Formations: Are we locked in a trading range? Is
accumulation or distribution taking place? Maybe the market
is like a coiled spring, ready to break out decisively. What
does the nature of the previous leg imply for the one on deck?
- Seasonal Factors: Do the conclusions of significant
advances or declines tend to cluster in a given season or month? If
so, we know better what to expect and can hope to more reliably gauge
the validity of the last apparent directional change.
- Runaway Moves: These represent the fastest way to amass
large profits and therefore deserve special attention any time our
indicators suggest their potential development.
- Technical and Psychological Factors: Do price patterns imply
a "capitulation point" that, if triggered, could cause chartists
and their followers to panic out of positions en masse?
- Key Overall Observations: Is there anything else left to
add? How does the progress and general tone of the market stack
up? What about the possible influence of meaningful intermarket
relationships?
Plus, you'll also get highly illustrative charts and tables crafted
by our research department to provide you with a recent or long-term
overview of a featured market when appropriate. View
